illegal? i mean they go aginst the tos of the games and basically let you play a game for free that you didnt pay for... you might kno more about this then me though, is there any risk of trouble from running these?

We dont edit there files or data or anything.

Look at Dragon server for Lineage 2 they have over 5k people playing, and there server has been up for over 2 years, they have more people playing then the real server lol
