Hacking Legal ??? nope !

    Dear members I got a nice question, hacking/stealing password is legal ?

    Don't take it otherwise ! just drop your comments.. if you need hacking then? your are law layer have to proof something legal... have to know the characters of your girl friends/wife. (Even a lady taken keyloggers form me to know hers husbands emails password...telling Form my Experiences...)

    Just typed in google 'hacking legal?' got 5,510,000 pages. !! amazing !

    I think you may want to verify your terms.

    Hacking, the act of modifying a script to make it do what you want is legal in most cases.

    Cracking, the act of reverse engineering is not legal.

    Stealing passwords falls in there somewhere.

    It is a generic term and so you need to be more specific. If you are talking about accessing someone elses computer without their consent then it is illegal in the UK.

    If you are talking about breaking software licences then it is a generic copyright theft in most countries.

    If you are reverse engineering something then it may be a breach of patents

    If you are talking about accessing peoples bank accounts etc then it is potentially fraud or data protection law breachs

    It is impossible however to make generic statements like X is illegal or legal because different countries have different laws
