Security vendor Websense has claimed that hackers have been using Google’s Google Pages service to host Trojans.
The company said that a Trojan horse is being hosted on a site with the same IP address as the main Google Pages Web site.
These programs are disguised to be useful applications but are used to conceal malicious code inside. They are then used to steal data and personal information from the victim’s machine.
Google recently launched their Google Pages service and it allows the user to host files on their servers. As much as 100 Meg space is provided to all the users of this service.
Google responded by saying that they are working hard on making sure that dubious files are not uploaded on their servers using this free service and advices the users to alert them of any suspicious file they find hosted on Google Pages.
