I installed a fresh wordpress a Blank Wordpress to be accurate on dreamhost server with no content and got hacked even before I could start importing content.

I have taken all security measures from my end.

    CHMOD
    directory listing denied
    secure pass
    secure ftp
    latest wordpress version

still i am hacked I am unable to figure out what is going wrong, dreamhost says it cannot help me it only provides hosting and doesnot help with security of site.

Can someone guide me what could be wrong with my sites security

What about your password? Is it strong enough?

Though this is not a solution, I suggest Hostgator is great in terms of support. They even helped me in configuring some of the plugins without any hesitation. Apart from that are you using any plugin?

yeah key loggers are ancient but surprisingly effective.

Do you have an SSL? This may not matter but it is worth looking into

So, as you may see there are lots of things that could happen to you and helped the hacker. Have you change your password after the first crack? Have you scan your hard disk from a third party? Are you using a single connection to the internet or a shared one?

I would suggest reformating your PC or something. Sounds like you have something on your computer, rather than Wordpress/Dreamhost.
You could try to download Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, TrendMicro House Call, Ad-Aware which are all free.
Scan it, see the results. If the results are awful, reformat your PC, change some passwords. Make sure the passwords include letters, numbers and special characters.
    Good luck!

I think you might have something in your computer. Virus or something. Trojan maybe?

Run ad-aware or something on your computer to make sure it's not you. Then get with your host and see what can be done if it's not on your computer.

Your host might suggest and SSL. Though as I said before this may not be the problem but it is definitely worth having one and will step up the security on your site!

What do they do when they hack?
What plugins/themes do you have installed?
