If you have a vps with cpanel, install configserver security and firewall. It has a ton of security features and is free. http://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html. If you need help installing this my AIM is GabeMROCKS. If that doesn't work, try a host that has a hardware firewall, and sells hosting specifically for DDosed sites. EDIT: If you have any questions about botnets, etc. please feel free to contact me.
You did not give us enough time to monitor the attack. I told you that I was going to talk to the Server Admin about it in the morning but when I logged on to my email this morning, I found a email stating that you requested a refund. If you had given us more time, it would of been sorted. We have invested in thousands and thousands for DDos protection on our servers, we rarely have a DDos attack that gets through our protection - If this does happen, our Server Admins work and work until it's sorted. I can understand that you have had alot of stress finding a host that will handle your DDos floods but we would of helped you the best we can. - Danny.
well if reading the Danny statement it's seem the customer was inpatient with the work i really know that ddos will need time to short it and know the problem so my suggestion for the customer was please be patient at least 1x24 hours
What type of dos are they doing? If it's a syn flood, then i read somewhere that you can setup a proxy that only forwards completed connections to the server. Eliminating spoofed ips. I hope you have your problem sorted out. Regards, Devon
