Hack attempt

    Hi,

I got a bit of spam on my icq account.
(I placed the *** to not give link).

    From: 350870213, 351601017, 352637557

That page displays some kind of IPB login and a small iframe at the bottom trying to load an old hack for Opera (I am using opera).

Is there anyone else getting this kind of message?

Electric-Shadow: The browser is fine, I assume you get something different depending on the used browser.

I don't think DP is responsible for this. This is the first spam I got that referred to a website a visit. I was just wondering if somebody is targeting DP users or it is just a smarter bot. I apologize if this thread doesn't belong here; just delete it if it doesn't.

I got the same thing a few minutes ago but I did the silliest I could, just visited that site (the message looked like a normal one when I first saw it). I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11, so I hope my browser is not vulnerable. Anyway, that fake login page contains an iframe that loads a page from a .cn site. I did some search on this and Google even lists this page as malicious. If anyone knows more about this, like a list of affected browsers, please let me know, I'm kind of worried about my security now.

The trojan it tries to install is detected by Avira AntiVir. You can download a free copy from http://www.free-av.de/ .

well, it might well be a malware trying to install some dubious codes in your computer`s kernel memory....just try to scan the whole computer especially the system32 files on your windows computer with a decent anti-virus & also an anti-spyware.
if you are lucky then, your pc might have escaped the real onslaught !! btw, mozilla firefox is one of the safest browser around.....!
    best of luck
    !!!

    Hi, got that too.

Thanks for posting this warning here. I was about to accept that contact but then decided to search the DP for Ripper's profile...

Thanks again, feels good to be a part of community that care for each other! :)

If you use kaspersky security it has web anti virus to stop any nasty code being injected into your browser like that.
