What kind of world would this be if you (an under-average joe)[no offense] could outsmart google's rocket scientists?

 

Google had millions of dollars to spend on anti-fraud. This is one of the most obvious ideas for click fraud so I'm sure they've thought of it and set up measures to counter it (and ban the people doing it).

Ans in case you planned on having 100's of IPs from the same country, there would be a similarity between all IPs thus immediately flagging you for google to investigate.

Exactly. Advertisers pay good money to, well, advertise and then people just click the advertisements for their own benefit.

 

As much as I agree with everyone on how wrong this is, haven't you all thought about taking the easy way out? When I first started adsense, I clicked my own links once a day. I didn't get banned, but I did come to the conclusion myself that I was cheating advertisers.

At the time, I didn't think what I was doing was hurting anyone. I say give the person a chance, and if it happens again, then you have reason to give red reputation.

 

It is not only that. It is because of the prices. If an advertiser has too low conversions, he will lower his bids or stop his adwords campaign, which means.

No money for us Webmasters .

I don't know OP, don't you think that this is not ethical? It's not about winnig a market, but sharing it.

Here's another way to look at it.

Honest work gets me about 3,600 genuine clicks a day.

Can you imagine how much harder it would be to click your own ads 3,600 times a day? That's more than two clicks a minute. You would go insane.

In this context, crime really doesn't pay.

people stealing like this are the cause of all of us getting paid less. I hope they ban you, your family, your friends, pets, goldfish and then they fine you $500 for every person they had to ban because of you for their extra costs of doing the paperwork and tracking you down.

Then I hope they figure a way to take 10 dollars out of your McDonalds paycheck each week, maybe they could just pretend to be the government and say they are taxes and then pocket the money.

You could do that...and be very dishonest/disloyal. Or you could just advertise your website, get legit clicks, and feel good about all the work you have done.
