H1 Title page character length?

When using H1s, will going a bit over the recommend 70 character count in a title page hurt my website? I'm right at 81 characters including spaces. I'm concerned about SEO and page rankings.

    Thanks

Sorry, one more question :) In the title page and using H1s, does it make any difference if you use "and" or "&"? In searches and page rankings, are they considered the same thing?

    Thanks again!

There is no need to concern regarding the title of the site unless your site's title is much longer. In searches and page rankings both "and" and "&" are considered the same.

You can used H1 tag in page but not used in title page. in google search engine "and", & both are stop words.

as I know, the optimal length is 60 characters.
    & and "and" are similar

Thanks for all the feedback. After doing more research, I am now confused if I should put the H1 tag on the website title or the page's heading? Thoughts/comments?Thanks

The 70 character length is just a recommendation. It will not hurt your ranking or on-page SEO. What's more important is that your H1 is interesting, keyword-rich, and gives your readers a good idea of what your article is about.
