Hello, I have a phpbb3 forum. I didnt notice until now but I have 3- h1 tags in the overall header. Is this bad in terms of SEO.

Also in some of this H1 tags I've placed banners (accidentally)

So should I remove the h1 tags where the banners are and just leave one H1

I use H2 mostly myself, but I don't think they care all that much

So should I remove the Head tags where the banners are inside it. I didnt notice it when I placed the banners, but they are all inside h1 tag. I guess this is not good

Well, I dont think that would class as valid html, so yes you should remove them, but why dont you put some text in atleast one of them, H1 tags help optimize your page, your could copy the title of the page

Yes, I mean I will remove the h1 tags where they are not needed.
There will still be the old h1 tags that are description of the site.
Everything looks okay now. The site I was talking about was Betting-Forum.com

The phpbb3 software automatically put h1 tags of almost the whole overall header, thats why the banners were included. Now its fixed.

honestly, i don't think h1 tags matter much anymore, esp in any sector that is competitive.

It is better to have one h1 tag for better seo and use of three h1 tags may look spammy and hence avoided...

You should really only be using one H1 tag. It would help to change that, definitely. Good luck! :)

Google give more importance to H1 tag. Keep the order like H1 followed by a H2....

    Thanks

I'd read that you should only have one H1 tag per page:confused:

On-Page Optimizations.. Header tags and so on, not that important in the eye of Google.
However try to keep one H1 tag on each page for the most targeted keyword, followed by another H2 tag.

Might be over use... I prefer h2 too and just for titles of paragraphs.

I would say H1 should be used on your content for a single time.
You may have more H2 for your content to describe important sub topics.

I must advise using only one H1 tag per page and no h2 or h3 tags as that is pushing things. Only put a major headline in those h1 tags.
