I have read some articles about h1 tag are good for SEO on on-page factor. But its true H1 font is large font size but it’s easily converted in 10 to 12 PX with CSS. Search engine very smarter then us. Latest research has shown that H1 tag or even other header tags even if used effectively and in the right manner cannot get you ranking, or in other word I would just say that a page without them can beat you in and out for the same term. What do you thing you guys is it ok?
You really have to look at the H1 tag from design perspective, the main page heading should be larger than rest of words, to accomplish that you use H1 tag. Of course search engines aren’t going to put major emphasis on this, because quite a few people try to game them by stuffing keywords inside H1 and H2 tags.
Some poeple design with H1 tag and bolding the text anyway. Because font size can be easily tweaked with css as stated so I would not care that much from a SEO perspective. ·
H tags are known to help SEO aslong as they are used properly i.e. no more than one main keyword per tag.
SEO is a combination of on page and off page optimization. Off page optimization (i.e. link building) seems to have much more weight in Google, but on page optimization is still important. Also header tags are only one part of on page optimization. There are other parts, like the title tag, the alt element, image names, keyword density, etc.
Ok, time to dispel the myth right now. I'm a Web developer and if I catch someone misusing headings (or not using them at all) I go ballistic. The heading is not useful only to search engines (since they help define the structure of the content on a Web page) but they are also useful to people who require the use of assistive devices such as screen readers. Yes, I just said that headings WILL HELP YOU. Especially if you know how to use them properly.
