h1 is still important?

what do you think about using h1? is it still important for google?
if yes can I give to h1 small size?

When you talk about on page SEO, then people do use H1, H2 etc tags.

Anyway, I think it is not very important, the real thing that matters is the number of back links and the content that you add in your site. Concentrate more on these two.

The role of H1 tag you will feel when you will optimize your page for long key word. you've got thousands (or even millions pages) and it is impossible to make baklinks with proper anchor to all of them, so in this case the internal crosslinking and the right organization of your content plays great role.

H1 should be bigger than h2, h2 bigger than h3 etc.... Last used H should be bigger (or at least more bolder) than your regular text. Otherwise SE will consider your page as a spam-page.

I think H1 is very important, but you can change H1 to a small size of font if you prefer.
