I have a section in the upper right hand corner of my site which has two phrases in it which I made h1 and h2. They are close together with no other text or content between them. The phrases basically describe what my site is about. The top phrase is very broad and the bottom phrase is more specific. Here is an example: <h1>Virginia and West Virginia Real Esate</h1> <h2>Inner City Appartments, Condos, and Townhouses</h2> Anyone see a SEO problem here? Is there any chance that this type of heading tag use could be considered spam by the search engines? Is this an incorrect way to use heading tags (having no content between the h1 and h2tags) ? Any help would be appreciated, Thank You
Seems fine to me. Don't forget h tags were originally for making some headings bigger than others before css came along. As long as you stick to this principle then search engines will be fine with it.
There is one possibility that you should think about. <h1>dlkjf</h1><h2>lkfasldj</h2> is considered OverSEOing is some circles. It would be wiser to do something like this <h1>Virginia and West Virginia Real Esate</h1> , good source for <h2>Inner City Appartments, Condos, and Townhouses</h2>
Each header tag indicates the relative importance of each section it is heading: <H1 ...> is for the major sections of your document, or as the one header to the entire document. <H2 ...> is for the secondary sections of your document
I think this is no spamming. In one document h1 tag use in one time and h2 tag use in one document two time
