I have ranked #4 for my keyword for quite some time now and Im beginning to think Im stuck! I have also done a lot of work in the last two months however ramained the same in the SERPS. I have submitted articles to ezine, hundreds of quality blog comments with keyword link, profile links, social bookmarks, RSS submissions.... what else can I do to move up?
It depends how strong is your competitor that listed infront of you. It is hard to beat such site like wikipedia. In this case, i will suggest to optimize another keyword then keep on work on the same keyword
At this point point your only way to get ahead is pretty much backlinks. Nothing else will help you. I would check to see how many more backlinks and the quality your competition has above you.
I got the same story with No5 for one of my main keywords. I built many links from article submission and Web2.0. I just think about buying some quality link from High PR and trusted sites to boost my ranking pass over current position.
It still helps but it might not be so easy to beat those "big site". Just do whatever you can but dont too focus and spend too much time on it Better spend it on other keyword
backlink, backlink, and backlink ... that's all and may be you can consider to buy some related niche site/ develop new domain with same niche ... and or ... make more dummy blog and give strong link for your main site just my opinion
Self Compacting Concrete is the keywords. Yes Im considering buying some links with some PR horsepower however Im not even sure that would work.Im even beating wikipedia!
It is not an easy feat but not impossible. I suggest you try to find where your competitors have links and try to link to those sites as well. Continue adding fresh and quality content to your site. Remember that SEO is an ongoing process. There are MANY people working hard and using unethical methods like black hat in order to move up in SERPS rather quickly. I suggest you step on it and step up your linkbuilding and SEO techniques.
Here's one trick I know. Search for your first 3 competitors and search for their backlinks and when you have already the list of their backlinks you can build backlinks on them so that you can really compete to their backlinks.
Try adding more quality content. If you have not done so, write and distribute articles with your main keyword or keywords in it. Google is keen on content, they love content, so take advantage of that fact. Also make sure that wherever you leave your link you are leaving a quality comment or post. That will go farther than if you submit the regular spammy one liners like "Good info, thanks".
