I've been browsing the adsense forums, and I see a lot of people saying that they have been banned from google for no reason. Does Google really ban for no reason? Or are they just not man enough to admit that they screwed up? I just emailed Google asking whether all of my Revenue is in the clear, and that if my website does not violate the Google TOS. I recently just received 2 clicks from 1 impression, and that really worried me. Does anybody out there have any success stories with Google? I know people make $1000's a month, but I'm talking about the little guys. It may take me an additional 4-6 months to earn my first check, and I don't want to have to work that long just to see Google ban me for some reason that I don't understand. Regards, James
They banned me because some kid at another forum clicked my ads a bit to many times.. I tried to explain it to them, but they didn't even bother to reply..
James, it is pretty simple really. If you put up a bunch of crap and it is obvious that you are simply making sites to put Adsense ads on, then don't be surprised if your account goes bye bye some day. On the flip side, if you have sites or build sites that actually have content on them and don't click on your ads all day long and have your friends do the same, then you will probably never have any problems. I wouldn't pay much attention to the people that post messages like, "I got banned from Adsense for no reason."
James, sweetheart, don't be afraid. Adsense can be a risk, yes, like any other affiliate, that's why you need to make sure you sign up with other affiliates as well, so you always have a back-up plan. People get paid all the time, just check this forum and you will see plenty successful stories. All the best.
Chachi makes a good point. Don't pay attention to anyone else when they say they've been banned. That story is re-told every day here and once you get right down to the nitty gritty, they really did do something wrong. It's usually clicking on their own links (even if they say they don't), or publishing content that isn't suitable for Google. Make your own success story and abide by the TOS. I'm sure there are far more success stories than actual people who've paid attention to the TOS having their accounts closed. The only reason you hear about it so much in here is because people who've been caught doing something wrong like to turn the tables around and bitch and complain. Ignore them. They're the ones who make it more difficult for you and me.
Thanks guys (and gals) for the support. However chachi, when you said don't build sites just to put ads on them. Well, thats the reason I'm building sites, to put ads on them. However, do you mean sites with nothing on them? I'm building sites that have paragraphs on content (that I myself might read if I were searching for that particular subject). Is what I'm doing the same as what you are referring to?
Put up real content and you will not have a problem...and you might even get people to visit the site as well. Unless you are a super programmer, my advice would be to build a couple of quality sites on a subject and focus on them rather than trying to build 100 not so great sites. I think you will find that in the end you will make more money and work more efficiently.
Yes, good content and SEO are key! If people find your site because it has what they want, and they will be interested in your ads - naturally.
Every time I see someone concerned about Adsense, or indicate that they have been ejected from the Adsense program - there is always the immediate response "well, you must have been doing something against the TOS". Time, and time again, individuals have stated here, and elsewhere that they have "done nothing against TOS". So what is it? Are all these people are breaking the TOS? All these people are innocent of TOS violations? Or somewhere in between?
They can still delist his website off the Google index. Google can harm you in more ways than you know Don't mess with the big G.
Yes, people DO get banned from Adsense for no reason. It happens. Adsense makes mistakes, and sometimes an office drone will deem your site "in violation" even when it isn't because of his narrow views of his company's polices. MISTAKE BANNING DOES IN FACT HAPPEN QUITE OFTEN. Which is why you should not think you will ALWAYS be safe with Adsense, or any Internet network. YPN, CPM networks, etc. None of them cares about you; they will ban you or deactivate you without a moment's notice. Such is life making money on the Internet. Always be sure you have one or two or three back-ups waiting to take up the slack of your suddenly loss income. Everyone thinks their account is safe "as long as they stay within the rules". B$. It happens. Mistakes get made. You CAN be banned at anytime. The best way to protect yourself? Make sure getting booted off one program doesn't destroy your livelihood.
There is a misconception held by some on the web that Google is being unreasonable when they ban you for putting up a crap site with no content / no value, covered in ads that you then click yourself. They are not being unreasonable, just running a business. There are undoubtedly some cases of unfair or undeserved bans, but I'm sure they are the minority.
I think thats a good response. I think a few people genuinely get banned even though they have not done anything antoward but many others eventually own up.
I do think people do get banned for no reason and I think google doesnt give them a chance to explain. Google has been nice to me by just giving me a warning for adult content (seriously wasnt my fault I bought a Game pack and there was a adult section which I deleted but a few adult games were in the adventure ect categories) I now clearly state ads are ads with a header ads I dont wona recieve another warning for anything.
