I had a small discussion with GuyFromChicago and now I have got 3 infractions from that dsicussion. I bet he was the one giving it to me. Thats funny.
I dont mind the 3 infractions, thats not the point.
But to see a mod that cannot take a discussion thats not funny and its the first time I have seen that here on DP.

Will this thread lead to an infraction for harassing you GuyFromChicago ? Or are you capable of having a discussion without using the opportunity to punish with infractions ?

Two of your last three infractions came from me. Inappropriate post & attacking/harrasing other members.

Discussion of where a particular thread belongs does not belong in the thread. If you think a thread is misplaced, report it and let a mod look at it.

    Well I got
    1 infraction for Inappropriate Post/Thread
2 infractions for Attacking/Harassing Other Members

And Smyrl of course I agree that discussions of where a particular thread belongs does not belong in the thread, but at that point the OP and GuyFromChicago was already discussing there, the thread was way off topic already.
And GuyFromChicago stated that I was not a mod so my comment was not interesting. He must have felt that I harrased him when big mouthed me suggested him to take a "mod class" from sarah or smyrl or any of the other mods here.
But I mean, should not a mod be able to take that comment ? Is that harassing ?

I deleted login's off topic comment about where a thread should be placed. When asked why, my response was:

"login is not a mod and his opinion on where a post belongs is irrelavent."

    In response login said

"So you feel like you are the king GuyFromChicago, just because you are a mod, good for you. That kind of comments are not appreciated by forum members. Why don`t you go to "mod school" at sarahk or Smyrl or some of the other great mods here, you can be great too."

    The thread is here.

Umbrella was not happy with my choice to move his promotional post and for some reason (maybe due to link sales on an edu blog that he bought from umbrella?) login decided to get involved in an issue that had nothing at all to do with him.

Thanks for mentioning it word by word, I could not since it was deleted.

The reason I got involved was because the thread is in a wrong forum. Maybe the thread does not fit anywhere here and should be deleted. And if you check my posts you will see that I stick my nose into a lot of stuff that is not really my matter.

Servants? no, its more like I am the servant of DP :D And I like it.

If I am good I don`t know, its some good and bad in us all. I can be to big mouthed in the heat of the fight, sure. The reason I asked him to take that mod class was because there are different ways mods are approaching members. An aggressive way or a friendly way. Its good for forums that the mods in general approach in a friendly way, I was mentioning something like that also.

And just for the record. I am not personally after GuyFromChicago, its only this one case I disagree. I seldom post in the same forums as him, so as far as I know can be doing good work.

You just can't trust mods from Chicago... They're all... No words that can describe 'em really. Time for geographical restrictions on moderatorship.

To be honest, i dont trust any of the moderators here right now, so ignoring them seems to be a good option. If you try and fight the corruption, you will just be banned, or so it seems, in my case.

Sorry for the negative post, but it is true.

    1. I got an infraction for a post promoting a member in a sales thread
    2. I questioned it
    3. Mod replyed; i continued to argue my case
    4. I get a 2nd infraction for a different post for reason "bump" even though i never did this.
    5. I protested this infraction, like the previous one, threated to contact Shawn about moderator abuse.
    6. I then get a 3rd infraction, from a post 2 weeks ago.
    7. I then quit complaining and get 1 negative rep, then a positive rep commenting the following.

I am no expert, but the infraction's are being overused for minor offensives, and it is causing us to claim abuse. If someone bump deleted 61 times, then i can understand why you would give a infraction, but for minor offensives, which are hardly noticable?

Im sorry, i said i would stop replying, but somehow i feel cheated by the system, and i am reconsidering contacting shawn about this.

What the heck did i do wrong to you? Protesting a warning doesn't count, i want answers, not more abuse...

    Correction, you did.

You see, members can't be trusted :)

I checked all of them and all were warranted so even though you might be arguing your case, you have no case in the eye of more than 2 experienced moderators. You will have to accept 'defeat' at one point.

If you misbehave we often look at someone's history. Not to 'go nail them on something else too' but just because that person's behaviour warrants scrutiny, for us to build a picture in what way best to rectify them breaking rules. If we then find more bad stuff, like that post you did 2 weeks prior, we indeed tend to hand out another one because it seems you are derailing.

Nothing evil. In fact, if you think about the workload of Mods, it makes no sense for us to go hunting around to nail you. That would be sad indeed but very far from the truth.

Anyway, you guys are free to have your opinions.

Good, whenever i see you start a thread, i bump 30 older thread to get you to second page.

I also hijack you thread telling everyone you sell crap

If you want that, infraction is not needed

And i think you need to read this for the third time - A BUMP IS A BUMP. no matter what reason behind it, no matter how minor it is, it is a violation and it is not fair to other people

Mod doesn't issue infraction to make fun of you, they "DO NOT" give a damn about you as long as you don't violate the board's rule, which harm other member

Disagreeing is fine, just do it in the right venue (this thread for example).

I dont sell crap, i dont hijack threads, i dont spam, and i bump within what i thought was considered the rules.

How is it not fair for other people, when other people also bump? I am the one who feels cheated, and i am the one who feels like they have been treated unfairly.

If you see a violation of the rules report the post using the triangle in the upper right of each post.

Why do you care so much about getting an infraction? It does not matter if you get an infraction, I don't know how many times I have explained this/posted this. You got infraction (or two), who cares, move on. You can contact Shawn if you'd like but he couldn't care less that you received an infraction and you will have gone from wasting moderators time to wasting Shawns time.

There is no conspiracy, no "mod abuse", nor is there any "corruption". You simply got your feelings hurt because you got an infraction. Get over it, we arn't babysitters.

By the way, I think it's pretty funny/ironic that you claim mod abuse and conspiracy, then give me red rep for this post (and, yes, mods can see who gives them rep, not that I actually care):

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3066058#post3066058

Kinda shows you arn't as righteous as you're claiming to be, don't ya think...;)

Anyhow, 99% of infractions are issued as a reponse to a reported post (which are reported by members, not mods). It' very rare that a mod goes looking for posts to give infractions to. We have way better things to be doing. :D
