Remember Markus Frind? Well MSNBC recently did a story on Markus and his site "PlentyofFish.com". Watch it and you will be inspired http://ouchs.com/2007/06/22/plentyfishcom-in-the-news-again/ His site is now ranked #1 for online dating site in the Canada and the UK and is now #3 in the States. And it's all done with a one man operation.....
The PlentyOfFish guy is REAL old news to DPers and AdSense enthusiasts in general. He IS an inspiration however.
I'm more inspired by Paris Hilton being offered $1,000,000 for an interview after she gets out of the Pokey. That's hot.

Could the sole reason he rose to those ranks be attributed to the fact that his website has superb SERPs? If this is true, or a prominent factor, why is my website that is listed on the 2nd page for the term ‘online games’ earning a mediocre figure? Can someone help me make millions? After all, I work at least 12 times as hard as Markus!
The search engine traffic wouldn't be a sole factor for his success, he said SE referrals are a tiny percentage of his traffic. He was one of, or the first free dating sites.

theres a big difference between top 5 and being on the 2nd page its not very often people look past the first 3 web-sites. it exponentially drops the further a site gets away from the top
I'm assuming his EPC (earnings-per-click) is spectacular with a dating website. While this approach may work for such websites with high-paying keywords, the calculations seem absolutely unreasonable for those earnings 5 cents or less per click. According to my calculations, making a profit is an impossibility. With Adwords out of question then, what route do we have as a means of advertising to even generate a fraction of his earnings?
I wouldn't believe he spends $15k/day on adwords at all, even if he spends a lot on adwords im sure he is smart enough to get a much better return from his money than that.
