It's actually the third school shooting in Finland.

The first one happened at 90's, some 14-year old kid shot two bullies from his school with a shotgun. And in Finland, you start to get punished for your crimes from ages 15 and up. =P

This is the second mass shooting in Finland in one year. How many such incidents does it take to show that something is wrong there? Laws should reflect the present reality. If the practice of lax gun control was not previously a menace but is now a threat, then the custom should be curtailed.

As for the "War on Drugs", drugs themselves were never the real problem, and the war itself is completely out of control. Due process has been shredded. People who are only suspected of but not convicted of selling drugs risk having their property confiscated. But there is difference between illegal drugs and illegal weapons. Drugs such as marijuana are not life-threatening. But guns have one purpose and one purpose only: to kill.

Many other industrialized nations have strong gun control laws and have very little weapons-related violence. I guess America's lust for guns and reluctance even to regulate private ownership of automatic weapons says something about our national character--but it's not very flattering. Et tu, Finland?

2 instances still does not show anything remotely what most are trying to claim. Look at history for starters.
That was not the point, the point is people can and still will get their hands on them
We have fully automatic weapons in the US that is not 'regulated?' I'm all for that, it however is not the case last I looked. Granted I have not followed all current gun laws.

Get rid of guns and people use knives, people use cars, explosives, people still buy them on the black market.

Amazing research Grim. That is a lot of shootings in a lot of schools all over the world.

Wow, crazies must like shooting up folks at schools!!

How many of them are/were students like the recent guy in Finland, the Columbine High of Colorado shooters, or the nut case murderer at Virginia Tech? How many are outsiders?
