    I do.

Practice a lot. Every day. Without fail.

Play with as many different people as you can when you're first learning.

Don't confine yourself to playing just one type of music.

    Learn to read TAB.

Is there such a thing as drum TAB?

    Or even drum music?

(drummers are a strange breed... only slightly less weird than bassists)

Make sure you really have the interest on it. Don't easily give up and keep practicing.
    Practice makes things perfect.
There are sites that offers lyrics with TABs; you got to access them.

I think thats rigth... me i used to be a drummer in my college days, we used to play in some bars at that time, but as time goes on the members felt that they want to go on with other things.. like another profession, so after our graduation the band broke up. Now they have their own proffesions.

Yep, there is drum tab. check out www.mxtabs.net and you'll find it.

I play guitar as well. My best advice is don't get an ego. And Minstrel is right, play with lots of people. Its how i've gotten to my abilities.

No. Once you start playing guitar, they can automatically detect this when you go online and they start emailing you TABS.

They don't do this for drummers, though. For drummers, they just email you Viagra spam... :D

    LOL!

We shouldn't pick on drummers, though (or bassists). The musicians who play those instruments may be strange but can you imagine a band without them?

Hint: The Thompson Twins and other groups who use synthetic drums are not real bands.

I always thought the guy (or girl) who hangs out with the musicians was the drummer  John Bonham would hate me for saying that...

No. It's usually the lead guitar or singer that gets the chicks... the drummer gets the ones the others don't want... look at Charlie Watts...

How did we change from musicians to chicks? In my band we all get chicks because we are all rockstars *shrugs*. Ahh to be young...

I used to play drums but I only choose them because bass was too hard.

I play drums as welll but its not really my calling. I've got nothing fancy....and bass is just a guitar! ... for simpler-minded people. Whats your opinion on Keyboard players?

Keyboard players get the guys (Elton John, Axl Rose). Guitarists and singers get first choice of the chicks. Drummers and bassists get the chicks the guitarist and singer don't want.

But what about Tommy Lee? Great drummer who also plays keyboards...and marries Pamela Lee....then again so did Kid Rock  This is a phenomenon no doubt.

    Ok... here goes another one.

How many guitarists does it take to screw in a light bulb?

20: one to screw in the light bulb, 19 to stand around and say "Man, that guy sucks. I could do that easy."

seriously man, play every day, don't get discouraged - It'll click. Some of the most famous guitarists in the world play mostly 6 chords - and play them damn well. It's all about technique.
