How to get banned by google( AVOID THESE):

1. Get a link on a banned site will Penalize you.

2. Put invisible text on your site with your keywords such as if your background is white and your site relates with fantasy, on the background do not write in white matching the background so it seems like invisible text: Fantasy, fantsy games, fantasy forums, etc.

3. Your banned if you have a gray google Page Rank bar.

4. If you register with link farms that spam.

No. 1 is not quite correct, IF YOU LINK to a banned site you are penalizide, if they link to you, that is their problem.
Imagine you were banned ny Google if a banned site links to you, then all of us would try to have some banned site so we could put nice links to our competion!

Depends on the kind of traffic you are getting to your site. If more webmasters visit your site, your Alexa will be good.

I'm a little skeptical about this. Do people actually give you a link for posting in their forums? I'm sure there will be many more people who can post hundereds of posts per day and can get 10 + links in just a week

Also, only very new sites will be willing to give you links. Established forums like DP won't give you a free link for 50 posts

Actually I got a free link on a PR4 site on the footer for 5 posts.

This is the first time I got an idea about SEO..

I thought having a good site that is already html validated is already ok getting good results. I never thought I need to do more in order to be on top of the results..tsk tsk tsk

google is not validated, I dont really think that being validated is a big thing, as long as your site looks good on the main browsers, IE, Firefox, Navigator, thats fine for me.
