Anyone know of a good, feature rich, ad free, guestbook? I've been using two.guestbook.de for around five years now and it's very good. Unfortunately, they are now closing down, so I'm looking for a new one. They were good enough to give me a bit of warning though. It can be either a hosted one, or a script I can host on my own site. I'd prefer to host it myself so I'm not relying on another host, but that's not a concrete requirement. I've downloaded a few scripts to test but they've all been pretty unimpressive. I've also tried a couple of 'free' hosted books, but they all seem to run ads. I don't mind paying for a script or paying for a hosted one, but I'd need to see a good demo before I paid. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
Here are 363... one of them might be what you're looking for. http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Guestbooks/index.html
Ha ha ha, Thanks Nico, but ONLY 363 ? In fact I'd already been to hotscripts (good site) and I'm still searching it. I was hoping a bit more that someone would come up with a really outstanding one that they were already very pleased with.
Thank again Ravianz but anything Bravenet swamps your site with pop-ups and ads. That's the trouble with most of these, so called, 'FREE' hosted guestbooks. I'm looking for a quality book.
I know I could create one, i'm always looking to create new scripts to sell on hotscripts. What is it that you like about your current one? Link me to it, maybe I can up with something for you.
That's a nice offer PHPGator, and thanks. The main thing I liked about my http://two.guestbook.de one was that is was template driven and adapted to my site so easily. However, another Admin on a forum I also Admin on suggested I try http://www.alexguestbook.net/agb/fichiers/alexguestbook4.zip and I'm very impressed with it. I'll spend a couple of days evaluating it but at first glance I'd say it'll take some beating. Install was as easy as: 1) Download the .zip file and unzip it to your computer 2) Upload as it is to your webspace 3) Create a MySQL database 4) Run the setup.php file, and it's done. Comes with loads of languages, about a dozen different pre-made skins, and a very powerful AdminCP, more like a forum CP. Best of all it's free, although I'd have willingly paid for this one.
