Guestbook Code or Script

I am looking for some suggestions for the following need:

I have a non-indexed personal site that I am using to give progress on a project I am working on it. It is only for those I have given the link to so I am not worried about spammers, etc.

Anyway, I am looking to add a guestbook where visitors can post comments or ask questions (and I can respond). These are all people I know but most are family and not technically knowledgeable. Basically this means a forum is out as an option.

    I want it to be:
On my domain - Not a third party host like I think most guest books are
Ability to answer questions, either through editing or a CP (either one is fine)
Free or pretty cheap - This is a short term project so I'm not looking to make a big investment

I have never had any inclination to use a Guestbook on any of my "real" sites so I wouldn't even know where to start.

Feel free to ask any questions to try to get what I am trying to do.

    Cheers

Looks like I will use PHP

Theres a ton of listings here as you suggested T0PS:
    http://www.hotscripts.com/search/3728989.html

If anyone has any suggestions towards any on that search let me know. Otherwise I will start pouring through them and see what I can come up with

I always go for one that has recently been updated and I can try on the programmer's website.

A guestbook will put everything in one long 'thread' though. You might want to keep an eye out for something more like a trouble ticket system or a very plain forum idea without log-ons.

SEbasic has got a very basic yet powerful forum on softalien.com. Maybe you can select guests as being able to post.

Thats really nice. With this particular project they can all be on one page but I will definately be giving that forum another look in the future as I am sure I will have uses for something like that.

    Cheers

Wouldn't work press do the job with public comments on? I set that up for my wife and showed her the URL, no instructions and she handled it.

I am now trying KISGB (Keep it Simple GuestBook)... It is pretty basic but seems to do the trick.

I'm not sure if I would suggest it yet because not everything works in the Control Panel like it should. With a little coding I've got it humming.

    Thanks for the suggestions
