But surely you need something of note to promote in the first place otherwise your campaigns won't be effective?
The PHP framework I'm using at the moment seriously helps to speed things up. I'm coming up with ideas throughout the day and putting them into practice at night.
You dont actually need hundreds of new sites per se , but you do need hundreds of pages themed together in topics (and you are rightly creating lots of sites as this is a great way of grouping related pages together). Focus on ensuring more than 30 relevant pages per site. Focus on pages with at least 350 words of relevant content. And... they will come and some of 'em will click. Good Luck Pal C
I think this should be an interesting experiment by you. Please take copious notes, and let us know how it goes. Are you making these sites in the same general topic, or just going for high paying keywords? Are you doing it on the same IP/server, or distributing them over multiple IPs/hosts? Are you using the same look-and-feel, or each one is unique? You mentioned a PHP framework. Is this something that allows you "develop" the sites without coding, or it still requires some coding? How do you manage the account of these sites? Are you tracking your marketing expenses? And more...
Hey, I'm targetting topics that I'm interested in rather than high paying keywords. I wouldn't know where to start writing about credit cards . The sites are spread over 2 shared accounts, Hostgator and Dreamhost. As far as possible I'm creating unique layouts for each. I'm using CakePHP which dramatically reduces the amount of code I have to write thankfully. At the moment I'm managing the sites in groups of 7. Yeah I'm keeping track of how much I spend to a fault actually. I've become obsessive about it in the last few weeks, heh. I'm keeping track of my progress in my blog which is listed in my signature. Trying to think up a new way of measuring my progress with the project. It's getting a bit boring simply listing that I've created another new site heh.
Traffic isn't everything, it all depends what you sell or how you make your money. Niche sites that get minimal traffic can make a lot of money if the right subjects are chosen. We have customers that have hundreds of sites with great Content management solutions in place. Within minutes of buying the articles they are online and formatted. I used to run just content sites and made a great deal of money with them none of them got large amount of traffic, but the traffic they did get had a great click through rate. As long as you keep adding content to these sites and keeping it active you can make money. The last thing you want to do is add content once and leave it.
