Ok, they are hating every design so far. At this point, I'm almost ready to go over to 99 designs and have you guys submit your designs there. I'll up the price and if you guys can come up with something better than please do.
No offence, but you didn't provide any feedback we can't understand what you want us to do and where to work on or which path to go towards, we need constructive feedback so that it can help us to design, to be ones from your contest thread I can't really understand much, don't know what in your clients mind... probably you should go to 99 designs but without a proper description of what it is that your looking for you wont get what your looking for and you wont help the designers understand what it it that your looking for, ps: just to mention that I put quite a lot of work into making these so ... be a bit respectful
Okay, leetsooc, here is constructive criticism. I'll be respectful, but I hope you're ready for me to rip you a new one while I'm doing it: Have you read the instructions for the design contest? This is the first criticism that I'd like to give you. What colors are you using in your website design. Why do they not match the logo? Photoshop has a color picker tool. Use it. All of your designs miss this, even the latest one which has the rounded corners. The hover effect for example should match the logo there. Your first designs had no rounded corners. It clearly says that's what the client wants... Your designs were boxy and not what the client wanted. While your last design has the rounded corners, it feels as if you just stuck the logo into it above and that's it. Uhm. The logo in comparison to the size of your designs, for example in the one with the great nav bar that is probably twice as high as the logo, is going against the fact that they think the logo on the site that I said they really liked is small. I can go on and on and on. The sites you have designed don't look professional. This client is making a site that will at this point launch in 2014. Your first two designs I'd say about 2008. The last one, because of the color choices and the gradient work, with the lack of spacing in the image with the rounded corners, looks 2005 to me at best. So, I will ask you to please excuse me that I do not take my time to give you feedback, when you don't take your time to read what is needed from you as a designer. It is your fault you put in so much time and came up with something that needs to be scrapped, not mine. My best regards and merry christmas, Nick
Does anyone else want some constructive criticism? And don't take this the wrong way guys. There are a number of you, who in my eyes, have made great designs, but unfortunately, the client did not like them. Because of the time that we're in now, with the holidays and everything, it gets to be quite difficult to get good full feedback from them. I'm doing my best to give feedback to the ones that I think have potential and try to steer them into the right direction. The ones who insult me by not reading, or by designing something, that in my eyes, I can see, that they did in under 20 minutes, I'm not wasting my time. Sorry. But these are legitimate contests, and most of the people that win, will be invited to join a team to produce designs for me outside of DP in due time. Those that see it only fit to put in 20 minutes into designing a site for one of my contests, clearly isn't putting the time and energy needed to make a great design.
Mindfreak, no offense, but every design you've sent so far has been based off of the same template. Please make something original, and don't use a premade template/wireframe to make the designs. they all look the same
Hi OP. Is it possible for you to reply to my PM and provide feedback on my entry, please. Thanks and Happy New Year.
