If anyone has a list, please post directories that will guarantee free listings in a timely manner- 1-10 days.

I dont think there should be any directory in the world that guarantees entry.

What if someone wanted to submit "all people from x country that follow x religeon should be burned alive" to a directory? Would their hate site be guaranteed a placement?

For free listings you cant really be so demanding, fortunately lots of the free directories approve quickly.

Since we are talking about DMOZ, what is everyone's experience submitting to that directory? I have submitted quite a few sites to it, and a good number have been accepted, but since I don't check up on whether or not my sites were added to a directory and DMOZ doesn't email you when you are accepted, I'm not sure about the time frame.

From what I can tell it's like months, right?

What do you mean, they don't email you? I thought the editor send his "invoice" when the listing has been added. :D

The easiest way for me is to buy an already dmoz listed domain instead of waiting to get accepted ;)

Really I was thinking getting listed there might actually happen about the same time that hell freezes over. :D

That is of course if you submitted there at least three years ago and have not subsequently re submitted because if you did that you will have gone to the end of the line again.

Seriously though there have been many of these posts lately asking for free directories that approve you right away.

People they are free - submit to them and forget them because they have no obligation to provide you with any kind of timely service and most of them do not.

If you want to get listed in a timely manner look to quality directories that charge review fees and guarantee those reviews in a day or two.
