Growth hacking: Has any company done a global referral scheme like this before?

    The eyewear brand Jamie Looks just launched a very generous global referral program where you receive $15 for signing up to their newsletter. By inviting your friends to do the same, you receive exponentially growing vouchers and a pair of free sunglasses (worth $235) if you refer 50 friends.

    Do you have any other examples of brands that have done similar growth hacking referral programs to promote upcoming releases? NOTE: ON A GLOBAL SCALE, not only in single markets!
