lets say i keep creating quality tutorials that i am knowledgeable about and use google insight and keyword tools to help target/and make my tutorials more competitive. how before google sends traffic my way or updates their index with my new content daily? i just started a site 2 weeks ago and been working hard at writing content, am i lacking patience? ive read to give a site 6 months to mature.

it takes a while to get organic traffic, the older the site the higher you will be on the rankings

Hi, it depends on alot of factors but if you are doing all you can with seo, linking, forums etc the traffic will come, how much of it also depends on many factors:D

well, I think its about 2 or 3 month. I'm currently working with 2 site. 1 is newly registered (last month) and 1 is registered more than a year ago (but doesn't have content). both sites I write quality + unique content but google favour the old registered ones as every of the post title #1 (page 1 at least) in google. and obviously the new registered website got about 10 times more backlink than the other website but G still favors the old registered ones (even the site has just have content).

to get organic traffic, I guess it depends a lot of factors ... 1 of it is the domain age.

You may have great rankings initially, then drop back after a couple of weeks. Keep adding content and building links and it can take 4-6 months depending on the keyword

My site is relatively new, but I have found that the best way to get some instant traffic is to submit quality link submissions to reddit. These people aren't as likely to click on advertisements, but they will bring some traffic and hopefully a few will subscribe to your RSS feed.

About 6 months seems to be standard if you arent a pro, but follow the advice of people here and just do it.

There are a number of ways to get your site indexed by Google within days (or even 24 hours) including:

    Blogging and using pingmyblog.com
    Issuing a Press Release.
Active and responsible posting in popular discussion forums.
Social Networking sites such as facebook and myspace.

Just keep writing more good content and then start building links back to your site (try to find ways that people will notice your site and give you a link). You'll see long tail traffic in a month or so. Then if you keep it up in 4 to 6 months you'll be pretty happy with the other organic traffic.

Hehe, this is a long time thread. Look at when it was started. Two big years ago. Don't you just need to close this thread now?

Nowadays, google start to give traffic to new sites in no time. I think with in 7 days, new sites start to get traffic because of the New Content Boost.

Google give a New Content Boost to new pages and new sites, this boost helps them rank high in search results. But this boost is only temporary.

As long as you will add useful and fresh content in your site, you will get traffic from google.

I think by the time it reaches 2 weeks, your site should start to get indexed in their search engine but the traffic would be very less because your SERP for major keywords are still low. As what you've mentioned, you are just getting impatient.

You're looking at the OP's join date, not the start date of the thread. The thread was started just a couple days ago.

You need to get involved with the community that surround your site and make sure your ontop of regular posting.

Sig links and blog posts are good too, but you need to catch peoples attention and then the word will start to spread about your site.

Depending on the competitiveness of the keywords you target, I say at least six months and possibly a year before you see lots of steady, quality traffic.

It depends on many factors, most important of those is the amout of preparation you did, meaning how many links you have ready and how competitive is your niche.
