Okay, lets say I have an idea for a website. Its like a multi user blog in nature (somewhat similar to the lolcats site where anyone can submit pictures, icanhascheezburger.com if you dont know it).

For a site like this, how would I go about attracting active users?

If I had just a few dozen active contributing members I think I could start to get this site off the ground. So far it is mostly me doing the submissions, with the occasional input from a friend or two.

As above and also submit articles & use email signature on all emails. Keep spreading the word whenever you can
