And that's just a part of the deficit. Take in all the other factors and this country owes TRILLIONS.
2 leandar U.S. National Debt Clock shows, moment by moment, how much debt is owed by the United States. Currently the value is, well, check out the Debt Clock to find out! http://www.brillig.com/ The estimated population of the United States is 306,700,842 so each citizen's share of this debt is $38,048.16. The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $3.91 billion per day since September 28, 2007!
Wow! that's some fact you have told us! The main reason is the recession(I think) Many many developed countries are there in the debts section including USA>
Shush!! The more upside down we look, the more people are going to put their foot down on this insane runaway government spending. While I'm usually against it, this time I had no problem with people only seeing one fact that doesn't tell the whole story. Carry on people, bash the US and it's debt!!
not true. India may be in top 15 by GDP, but still is a very under-developed country. the reason is its large population. it is the "per capita GDP" which is more important: GDP per person. if one looks at the per capita GDP, India isn't even in the top 100.
Oh really? So Luxembourg is the most powerful country in the globe (sarcasam). Not likely, Luxembourg has a population under 500k, about 1/3 of the US's military population. Look how much GDP per capita weighs in with country a like Kuwait which had to depend on the US to save them from Iraq. The truth is the culture of the United States has cultivated, invented, and commercialized the most important products to come around in the 20th and 21st century: Online Advertising, Google, US Energy, Exxon Mobil, US Internet, Amazon & Ebay US Entertainment Industry Software, Microsoft, US Finance, Berkshire Hathaway, US etc., etc., etc., All other countries lag, follow and rip off. Eg., We invent the internet and the Ukraine spams it (just kidding). But seriously think about the software industry, that was basically cultivated out of thin air by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. These two great Americans created a whole economy out of nothing, when back in the 70s the rest of the world was worried about the state of the global economy when all the world's national resources would be gone (oil), the US came around and sparked an industry and commercialized software, and all of us on this forum have the US to thank for that, we would all be unemployed if it wasn't for the US and I know that most of the people from third world countries on this forum would either be merchants at the local market or farmers if it wasn't for inventions and ideas that were spurned here in the US.
GDP nor GDP/capital can accurately measure which countries are financially better, you'll have to take both both in consideration among other things. China is ranked number 2 in the total GDP table, but I bet their GDP/capital is crap; I bet many individuals would rather live in some of the countries below it such as France and Canada.
The odd I noticed when people pointed out the dedicate is people may talk about cutting spending but hardly anyone wants to talk about the fact that maybe we should increase the revenue that the government takes in so we can pay off this debt
where does power come into this discussion? it is even more absurd to equate wealth with military power.
You know what? You are right, the United States of America is great. It is the greatest country on the face of the Earth. Not because it has the most powerful military in the world, although it does. Not because it is the worldwide engine of invention and ingenuity, although it is. Not because we sacrifice our lives to fight for freedom and democracy and against threats to peace loving people all over the world, although we do. Not because our citizens have the staples we need we also have entertainment cultural events, and technology that is the world's envy, although we do. You know why our country is so great - it is because we have a Constitution that distributes power between the people and their government in a way that manages to protect everyone's rights better than any other form of government known to man. In other words, American citizens have the freedom do so whatever we want with our lives. We are truly free people. Thanks for noticing. p.s. Keep trying leandar, eventually you are bound to post something on this forum that is not totally useless.
^ i was saying the current situation about America and the economy, we all know native Americans are the real Americans, rest of all from around the world.
