Group categories by genre

I want to make a tv streaming site. How can I group categories by genre? like some categories may appear in multiple genres so I don't think making child categories isn't going to work. So how can I do this?

 

You can use tags for this purpose.

 

Using tags isn't going to work cause I'll be using posts as episodes. This is the structure:
Charmed (Category)
- Episode 01 (Post)
- Episode 02 (Post)
- Episode 03 (Post)

Categories will be used as Series so I want to be able to group categories by genre.
Any solution?

 

Woothemes has a theme called Wootube which should be able to organize your categories and videos the way that you want them displayed. You should check to see if some sites are offering a free download of that theme or consider buying it.

 

i don't want to use their theme I have my own custom theme so i want to know the code for it =[

 

I found a plugin called JQuery Categories List Widget. Maybe this will be able to work if you want the categories displayed on your sidebar http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jquery-categories-list/screenshots/ .

 

That plugin doesn't group categories by genre's... all that does is display all categories/sub catergories

 

Didn't know WooThemes had somethin like this...pretty cool
