Article on new PrimeQ network initiative: "The inaugural PrimeQ University, which admitted its first students this January, has been hailed a “resounding success†by PrimeQ’s CEO Jason McClain. The aim of the PrimeQ University is to provide a crash course for people eager to learn about online advertising. There is a possibility of the most able students being selected to work for PrimeQ. The full-time course lasts two weeks and is complimentary. The concept was thought up by McClain who was frustrated networks were solely fixated on making money and not bothering to educate young people about the industry. Employers in affiliate marketing have regularly complained about being unable to find suitable employees to work in the sector, but PrimeQ is the first company to set up a formal training program. “Witnessing the dearth of people with experience and skills in the field, I thought we should develop an intensive course,†McClain told the Weekly Q. “It has taken months of planning, but has been well worth the effort. I am delighted the first ever PrimeQ University has been a resounding success.†The course began with lectures about the ARPANET, the predecessor to the internet, the development of the web, right through to profiles of super affiliates and US and UK affiliate networks. Several hours were spent teaching students about cutting-edge online marketing techniques and how companies were utilising them to maximise revenues. Classes were run by PrimeQ staff based on their areas of expertise. Murray Newlands introduced the students to online marketing and taught them about lead generation, as well as holding the final exams. Jeremy Bilawa spent a day providing an insight into the proprietary technology employed by PrimeQ and Nadeem Azam gave a series of lectures on affiliate marketing and co-registration. J. J. Abadom also gave the students hands on guidance on various aspects of marketing. Of the ten people who participated in the course, four passed a challenging exam and were offered a job at PrimeQ UK. Joe, Caroline, Cleo and Rafiul have started working in the departments that suit their interests and abilities. The University will run further courses in 2007 and interested parties should get in touch with PrimeQ." There will be several members from PQ at the A4U event on Wednesday evening and, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to grab one of 'em __________________ Nadeem Azam Public Relations Manager, PrimeQ Subscribe to 'The Weekly Q' - exclusive articles on affiliate marketing
