Greg Gutfeld Proposes Building Gay Bar Next to Ground Zero Mosque

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by sar420, Aug 11, 2010.

On Tuesday's 'Red Eye' (Weeknights, 3 AM ET on Fox News) television's really early morning zoo, ringleader Greg Gutfeld made a suggestion that is sure to entertain and offend: he wants to build a gay bar right next to the controversial "Ground Zero" mosque.

Not just any gay bar, but a gay bar that caters to Islamic men. "An entire floor, for example, will feature non-alcoholic drinks, since booze is forbidden by the faith," Gutfeld said.

"As you know, the Muslim faith doesn't look kindly upon homosexuality," Gutfeld explained. "Which is why I'm building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world."

Gutfled claims his gay bar idea is completely serious and not an elaborate satire: "This is not a joke. I've already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance."

What do you think about the Ground Zero Mosque gay bar: good idea or unnecessary provocation?

I just dont understand the reason behind all these things. Doesn't these people have their own religion to look on? If Islam is spreading its spreading because of its good things not by any bad means and this makes people jealous and they try to do these types of things after being frustrated. My advice to everyone who does these things anywhere in the world and also on DP too is that dont try to offend other's religion just prove your religion to be good and then will be your victory.

Prove to me that your god is better than mine, and I'll stop insulting Islam.

And btw - I'm not jealous of Islam, I just pity the poor people who are forced to follow it without any respite.

Didn't seem like a response worth posting. Is there anything wrong with opening a gay bar next to a mosque?

Wasn't LGF the site that released all the real photos from the flotilla incident showing the "peace activists" all wielding weapons? I think they were also the site that covered the forging of other photos trying to make strikes in Palestine seem worse than they are. Oh, they were also the guys who broke the story about the "green helmet" guy being a hizbollah supporter and staging photo ops with dead babies. Funny critic you've chosen to say something negative about Mr. Gutfeld's idea.

P.S. How is your porn site going?

I think the Islamic center Should INCORPORATE an ISlamic GAy BAr. It should be featured. Gay Muslims, engaging in GAy bar activities while praying to Mecca. They should film it on a daily basis. It would adjust the old phrase to something more modern and Islamic. Go EAST YOUNG MAN I'd like to see what Gay Muslims going East would involve.

They should make it the first Gay Muslim center and then they should franchise it to Saudi Arabia, Iran and a few other places.

    Helluva good idea.

Ain't USA a free country? They can open a strip club next to it if they want. Who is stopping them. Why would anyone have an objection to it.

Beside that, building next to the mosque is already a Bar (Dakota Roadhouse). I'm sure gays also visit that place, some might be Muslims too.

Even free countries have zoning ordinances
Don't know what they are like in New York, but it is not uncommon to see restrictions that prohibit opening a bar or a sexually oriented biz within a certain distance of a school or house of worship (and that would include churches, mosques, temples, etc). Zoning restrictions vary from state to state, and within a state they vary from one city to another... but I'd be surprised to see that suggestion make it beyond the initial discussion with city staff.

I can tell Gutfeld have thought into this one very thoroughly. He used the same tactic and, of course the gay bar have the right to be built there but it will be very offensive to the Muslims and the Mosque. At the same time, the Mosque is thought to be offensive due to 9/11. It is a dilemma, isn't it?

LOL! You can see mosque offending the families of of those who died in 9/11 just because its opening on 9/11/2011? Don't you see people offending whole Muslim nation by burning Quran on September 11 2010 ?
