Was wandering around and found myself here. I am a 57 year old, Aussie female. I am a high school History and English teacher, living in New South Wales. My interests include History, glass etching, tapestry, discussing religion and politics and I am a writer, currently writing my first novel (fantasy). I have a son and a daughter and four beautiful grand daughters. I will state outright that I am a conservative and, other than a few progressive accomplishments of our society, I wish I could turn back time to an age of self discipline, responsibility, respect and basic good manners which I consider to be sadly lacking in today's society. I belong to no religion as I consider all religions to be social constructions for social control; one man deciding how he thinks the rest of society should live according to his standards. However, spirituallity is another matter, and I consider myself to be a spiritual person; reincarnation and karma are two of the laws of the universe, along with Balance. As far as I am concerned, to each his own regarding religion; if you find peace and comfort from your beliefs then I am truly happy for you....as long as those beliefs harm no one and your mission is not to convert the world. To be honest, I also have to state outright that I consider Islam to be the most dangerous religion and the biggest threat to world peace and stability as the core tenents of Islam are not "harm no one". If honesty gets me banned outright, then so be it. I don't like deception and have no wish to begin here under a false premise. There is one thing though....I tend to waffle on....and on and on.....
Welcome Arlian, "I consider myself to be a spiritual person" and you are believe in Law of KARMA is really the considerable ORIGINAL belief.
