Recently I have been hearing such praise and excitement over green businesses. Only problem is that I know of a few (maybe 5 at the very most) in my area.

I am curious if anyone knows of some good resources that could help me research some green business ideas or a resource for me to talk to some green businesses would be greatly appreciated.

    LOL

Going Green is turning into big business.
One "growing" business is consulting for making a house energy efficient. There are some tax credits for this in the US after you hit a certain ranking.

Windmills and solar related items are picking up well also.
I thought a bike with a generator on it would be good for kids to power their video game system and get exercise at the same time :D

Search "Green Ideas" and read through some of the lists. You may find some good ideas on an avenue to pursue.

We are working on making our company "more green". I'd like to hear what other small businesses have done to help make their business more environmentally friendly.

I'm signing with real.com to sell some of their direct downloads and had planned to use the "Going Green" since this will eliminate packaging for computer games.
I had also thought about offering customers that buy packaged games a "Green Service".
By this I mean removing and recycling the over abundance of packaging that video games often come in.
It's amazing how much packaging is used for a simple cd or dvd.

This would be a free service and might be a marketing niche for saving the planet.
I could also post stats on how much paper was recycled and such and how much carbon credits earned.
    What do you think?

Actually there are many green biz such as car that using electrical as their source of fuel which eliminate the CO2.
You can do your part by offering green bag to store customer so that the usage of plastic bag can be avoided.

I was looking into rain harvesting, recylcing elements (rubber/plastic), and those sort of manufacturing-based green businesses. I guess I have been thinking in a large-scale mindset :D

Rain harvesting, that's a first but sounds reliable. I'd say wind and solar power are the 2 biggest things although they are costly. But IDK, if you can afford it, go for it :)
