Green Age - My new site, Id be grateful for any feedback.

I started this on the 4th March. There is still alot of work to do regarding the layout and content. Id be grateful for any feedback on it and even more grateful for feedback left on the site - if it is something that you are interested in. http://www.greenage.me.uk/

I am new to all of this and feeling quite confident about the site eventually being quite popular. Is there any tips you could give on formats that I will definately have to change and/or could incorperate.

ps. try and look out for spelling mistakes, I am a bugger for it.

I think it is hard to seo it

 

hmmm, a lot of flash, ALL of this elements could be coded in XHTML/CSS/Javascript. and it will be better for SEO.

I have been worried about the loading time of the text effects to be honest, aswell as the search optimisation. So I have taken your advise and replaced the flash text on the home page with standard text. The flash on the intro will stay I think because it points out to the user where the 'entrance' is.

 

Too much flash but besides that its great.

 

Great welcome page. Better you change the enter option into more graphical effects and also remove the space below the image..

 

Nice site and great niche you have chosen. I would suggest on the green background color to be a little lighter. The menu is a kind of fuzzy and not well readable.Try and add some more text on the home-page, there's too much empty space. Regards.

The gap on the intro page has been shortened and the 'menu' text changed to white - it seems to make it more readable.

I will look into adding more text on the home page, maybe a few sentences on what global warming is. Also see what other text effects I could use on the intro page.

Its a shame that some computers will take time to load it, something I am probably going to have to just deal with.

 

Its loading so slow perhaps its due to flash and my internet connection speed, you should make it fast loading.

The ads have been re-positioned again. With a link bar at the top.

I will start thinking of ways to raise the revenue once there is some good traffic comming in. Maybe link to green gift items or a shop.

 

this site has great potential as it is in an area which wil only grow in years to come. First impressions of the site were that it was slow to load (probably due to the flash) and that the layout on the main site was a bit busy (crowded) it seemed like thier was alot going in in such a small space...which i have to admit seems to happen alot on these type of green sites (dont know why lol). It has a very proffesional design which suits the theme of the site perfectly.

Nice work overall and the site has a greta potential to do well...as other users have said html and css are better for SEO and site promotion but in its current state it can still be optimised and made just as search engine freindly as many other sites. Best of luck!

I like it!!! You should do green cleaning supplies, just saw a show on going green with cleaning supplies that are environmentally friendly.

 

Woot, I like flash. I need to put some on my first page. You have formal and informal fonts, a little distracting. I would try and stick with a few similar ones. Definitely like the images and white font on green picture background.
