CTR's a little lower... they jack it up, a little higher down it goes. That's called "optimizng for CPM" no? In other words "Google being greedy to the extreme" And the worst part is that I cannot get my CTR high enough for them (>1%) to get a min bid low enough to justify the campaign. They're effectively pricing me out. All the while there's another guy sitting in a blue spot AND NOONE else besides me and him.
Take it off auto pilot if it bothers you. And if your CTR is too low, don't blame them. You made the ad. It's a crap ad.
autopilot? what are you talking about? and the ad averages 1% CTR which is not crap for my industry. and by the way, why do you censor my posts? are you Google-lover?
you have your settings set in adwords to change your bid price automatically. Turn that option off and manage your own campaigns. It has nohting to do with google being "greedy" a you put it. It's an algorithm based on the bids above you. If your CTR is low you need to create a better ad like stated above.
I don't censor anything, just merge them because you should hit EDIT instead of double posting. It's bad etiquette. Your bids won't change unless you specifically instruct AdWords to take over automatically. Have a look in your account, you may learn a thing or two.
Okay... I know what you're talking about. To keep your minimum bid from increasing, improve your quality score by first removing poorly performing keywords. Also suggested: geo-targeting, time-of-day targeting, and making the better ad copy.
Well apparently, some of you failed reading in middle school, cause I'm talking about MINimum BIDS (not max bids) and those are set by Adwords and not by me.
What's with the attitude dude? IMO obviously you failed your writing classes: "CTR is a little lower, they jack it up." Google jacks the CTR up? And then what? "a little higher down it goes" How can something go a little higher down? Anyway, good luck expressing yourself here.
I think you should try to open your ears. The guy seems to be making a point. To nit pick the point to try to make yourself look more "professional" serves no purpose. Now, to the greed factor: Guys this is basically a "tit-for-tat" kind of experiment. Open up 2 accounts: One Adwords and two Adsense Use the same keywords in your pages so that you can see what GREED really is. I bet you anything that you are going to get less Adsense dollars than you spent on Adwords. I guess someone would say; "Thats because of the MFA sites and click arbitrage!".... I did the test for some common words and this is my result in brief: 120 dollars into adwords >> 26 dollars profit in adsense .40 cents / click adwords >> .04 cents / click adsense I guess greed is the right word here. I spend 40 cents a click and get 4 cents per click on the backside >> for those of you that failed math Google is keeping 90% of the profits and returning back to webmasters 10% ... That sounds and smells like greed.
