A 1/2 hour ago my site was listed on http://corner.nationalreview.com/ and I have gotten 500 uniques from there so far. Part of the posting says "a reader passed along this very long list" so it seems you can submit stuff to them if you are interested in trying. The story is on their front page and they have an Alexa rating of about 3,000. I don't know the link to suggest a story, you may have to sign up, but the traffic looks awesome. Good luck.
Thanks, I've had a few, but from sites I knew like digg and slashdot. I've never seen this one before. It's been 45 minutes and they gave me 1000+ uniques. Well worth the effort to try and get a story published there.
The only hits I got was a German Designer taking the piss out of the Scottish site in my sig. He stated that is was crap etc etc all in German. When I told him I got 5% adsense CTR he shut up, I got 100 uniques from him in 2 days and had great adsense for those 2 days on that site. Hopefully I will be picked up by a biggie soon Jamie
It's sad that the first hit is not worth much. You have to wait until people stop coming because it's front page and they are coming from archives which will make them a bit more targeted. Nice though that your stuff is good enough to get published on a higher "traffic" website.
One good thing is if they are clicking a link to get to my site they may be more apt to click links on my site. The BLs that result are always a nice bonus. I just launched a new site and it's getting traffic from the site getting the traffic so that is nice as well.
Exactly what I was aiming for. BLs are the great result of any "massive attack" on your website by digg, slashdot or anything else. Continue doing so and you'll gain more and more BLs over time, but I'm sure you know what you're doing.
what kind of article did you publish in http://corner.nationalreview.com/ or you just got your site mentioned there?
They just mentioned my site. If you read some of the posts you may get an idea of what they like and find something to submit.
That I can't, the admins of each site decide what get posted so they have to like it. There's alwas digg and slashdot, where your link gets posted and users vote and if you get enough votes you hit the front page and get lots of traffic, but they are more tech based sites.
