Well, let me hear what your interests are. You should focus your site around your interests and hobbies, and possibly other things you know a lot about. If you are just going for the high payers, it may work out, but 9 times out of 10, those going after pure money deteriorate under the pressure of trying to climb to the already competitive niche.
I totally agree with rsmillionaire. Work on niches that interests you. Sites for Adsense normally need time to spit some cash and if you're only interested in making money, chances are you will be interested in other things on this forum and ultimately leave that site in dark.

There are some high paying keywords like $30-50/click. But remember, it only pays out may for only 5 clicks per month. So, in my opinion, rather than going crazy behind keyword, focus on improving your website.

All keywords related to finance including credit cards, loans, credit score, credit report, mortgage and insurance are really high payings
