I saw the thread on studyhtml.com Many said it was a great domain name, with a worth in the hundreds of dollars. My question is, for the xperts out there... if studyhtml.com is such a great name, then why isn't studyjavascript.com registered (or any of the other extensions)? I am starting to believe the days of potential, brandable domain names may be past its time. If it takes hundreds of hours to develop a domain name, to get anything out of it, why should it be valuable? If some weird looking domain name, like jailbreak-iphone3gs312.info ranks in a week with just a blog and some forum links, while generating a $1 day, shouldn't it be worth more? Yet, so many want the memorable domain name and not the one that generates income.
It was a good domain that I found but I guess it relies on keywords these days. If you have a site developed with super high quality content on a domain name without a lot of monthly searches, that doesn't mean it's not worth as much. It really depends on if you're talking to a domain reseller or someone actually interested in developing it.
I'm not an expert, but here's one possible reason. HTML is not a "trademarked" word; it's an acronym but is generic, so you won't have any legal issues. "Javascript" is trademarked; according to wikipedia, belongs to SUN. While they may have allowed some other sites to use the word javascript along with other keywords, I'm guessing there could potentially be issues. Or maybe, people don't want to study javascript?
Check "study html" with Google Keyword Tool. I guess that keyword doesn't bring a significant traffic, though it's not so valuable.

as my per my thoughts i only love keywords in domain name.but if you are looking for brand value you need good domain. But for me i depend mainly on keywords in the domain for ranking purpose
A few reason why StudyHtml.com probably went unregistered so long It's a good name but not as good as LearnHtml.com in my opinion because people study something they are trying to learn. Also, there are so many places to learn HTML for free on the web. One more is about as futile as another wallpaper site or free myspace graphics site. The market is over-flooded with pages competing for visitors.
