Agreed, but his comments were still taken out of context.

That's all the Nixon boys have to hang their hats on, Americans are not stupid, they are going to vote these losers down the tubes for the Iraq war, their lies that lead us into it, for record oil prices and the fraud the war caused and for interest rates that are causing record foreclosures!

They will also get beat because of the Ford and GM meltdown and all their workers losing everything!

Well, I think most people are stupid.

You can tell a lot about a country/region/city by the sort of people they elect into office. People always whine about crooked, stupid, do nothing, flaky politicians, but a politician is only as good as the people who elect them in.

Really, what was he talking about then?

"he was a troop?" What does that mean? Kerry never saw combat, and in all likelyhood was not were he said he was. Just ask a SBVT, including hte ones that served with him.

    Purple hearts... LOL... Visit Wiki

    "
Some SBVT members have questioned Kerry's first Purple Heart, received for a wound sustained on December 2, 1968. Kerry remained on duty after being wounded, and sought treatment at the following day's sick call. They assert that the injury was too minor to merit a citation because the only treatment Kerry received, after the removal of a piece of shrapnel from his arm, was bacitracin (an antibiotic) and a bandage, and he returned to service immediately; however, other division members, including at least one SBVT member, received Purple Hearts under similar circumstances (ReportsAwards). SBVT also claims that the wound was not from enemy fire but was from shrapnel of a grenade he fired himself [1], a claim they believe is supported by the fact that no combat casualty or after action report for the incident has been discovered.
The criteria for the Purple Heart call for its award for any injury received during combat requiring treatment by a medical officer; the military makes no distinction regarding the severity of the injury. Under military regulations, the Purple Heart is awarded for "friendly fire" wounds in the "heat of battle", so long as the fire is targeted "under full intent of inflicting damage or destroying enemy troops or equipment."

You do realize that Bush DID serve? Can you show me were he did not. Not only did he, he released his military records to the public. To this day, Kerry has not.

Really? Is that what you really got out of the speech? Or was it what you got out of his lame ass explaination, two days after the fact? The truth is Kerry is a traitor, and a coward. He always has been.

Serve in WAR? Show me where he went to war.

And why on Earth would Kerry take a jab at the troops? I knew exactly what he meant right when it was first reported. I don't care about he "explanation."

People like you just invent meaning because you take the smallest thing and use it to attack the other side. It's that "warrior" mentality that is ruining all logic in our political system. Be REASONABLE.

Oh, he is... He was too stoned during the 70's when interest rates were 14% plus on mortgages.. Sometimes I wonder if he did not just wake up after a 30 years pot hiatus. Wasn't there a movie about that with Cheech and Chong?

If you are ignorant enough to fall for the sales pitch on getting an ARM when the rates are sooooo low already, then learn from your mistake!

Read the article, it is about the ARM loans. I know a few people who are in the same boat with those loans. The worst part is most of them not only overbought or over borrowed because of the lower payments, then their house values dropped below what they owed. That has nothing to do with Nixon by the way, people need to take responsibility for their actions. I am also a bit ticked off at the banks for giving the loans to people as easily as they did.

Exotic mortgages and real estate speculation are the sole reasons for record foreclosures. I mean seriously, anyone who didn't know that shouldn't be allowed to vote.

These are not innocent people getting their houses foreclosed upon.

There are people spending 75% of their income on a house they cannot afford because they expected to refinance later or sell it, YOU KNOW THAT.

I follow the real estate market very closely, it's a hobby of mine and no innocent person is getting hurt in this downtrend.

If you cannot afford a 15 year fixed rate mortgage with 20% down payment, YOU SHOULD NOT BUYING THE HOUSE. End of story.

30 and 40 year, no money down mortgages, and other exotic mortgages (like interest only mortgages, which recently have made up a SIGNIFICANT amount of total mortgages) are the sole cause of this.

You said the following: "He was a troop himself (unlike Bush) and has 3 purple hearts."

I assume by "troop" you meant, served in the armed forces. Which again, Bush did.

"Bush enlisted in the Texas Air National Guard on May 27, 1968 during the Vietnam War, with a commitment to serve until May 26, 1974. In his 1968 Statement of Intent (undated), he wrote, "I have applied for pilot training with the goal of making flying a lifetime pursuit and I believe I can best accomplish this to my own satisfaction by serving as a member of the Air National Guard as long as possible." He performed Guard duty as an F-102 pilot through April 1972, logging a total of 336 flight hours[1] and was promoted once during his service, to first lieutenant.[2]"

    Again, from Wiki.

Why, because he is an idiot. He's been taking jabs at the troops for years. He took jab at his own troops during the Vietnam war.

Here he is with Hanoi Jane: [IMG]

Here we have Kerry throwing his medals over a fence in Washington DC:

Of course later we found out he really did not throw his medals away, just the ribbons... (the first of many lies to follow)

Here we have Kerry bashing his fellow troops (gee, again, WHY WOULD HE DO THAT?)

Yeah, that is a great question man. WHY WOULD HE DO SUCH A THING? What a scumbag.

Here he is on Memorial Day of all days protesting the war:

He should get used to that pose. Busted again Kerry.

I know what Kerry meant, and so do you. He's long had a history of doing much the same. This is just the first time the world (and fellow democrats) have called him on it.

Hmm... Do you know what math is.. 21 minus 6 =? Which is better, which is worse?

You are screaming about 6% interest and doom and gloom in the housing market, meanwhile, interest rates, inflation and unemployment in the 70's (Carter years) was out of this world.

The 14% I am referring to was the arm my dad locked in on for our home in St. Louis back in the 70's.
