Gravity Don't Mean Everything- Proof

This post is meant to help people find better converting products in the marketplace.

Many people keep saying "find the products with high gravity".... But if you want to make good money, here's a better strategy. IMO

Find a product that has rather low gravity but is listed above high gravity sites.... When you find this, it means the lower gravity site is making more overall sales than the high gravity site even though the higher gravity site has more promoters! Less competition, and selling like hotcakes...

Here's an example.. (Example is my site, not meant as spam)

    http://www.clickbank.com/marketplac...astral&sortBy=popularity&billingType=ALL&i=10

The #2 site is mine and only has 5.59 gravity and has only been in operation under 2 months.. The number 3 site has a whopping 19.6 gravity (which is awesome in this field) and has been around for years.

Even though atleast 15 more affiliates made sales for product #3, the site with only 6 affiliate sales is ranked higher, therefore making more sales...

Now, which one do you think will be more profitable? The site that has 21 affiliates who made sales, or the site that has only 6 people who made sales but is ranked higher, and has a higher average payout amount?

I don't expect this ranking to last, the unexplainable store will probably slip back to the #3 position, but this shows it is holding ground with a site that has 4x more gravity and promoters.

My advice in a nutshell- Watch the products your interested in promoting in the marketplace on a daily basis. When the positions juggle around and a low gravity program outranks a high gravity program, you know that product with the low gravity is ready to be milked. Even if the ranking change doesn't last, you still know that the lower gravity program is right behind, or on the same ground, as the high gravity program, but with less competition.

actually, #3 has a minimum of 21 affiliates as an affiliates sales have the capability of adding 1 gravity point maximum.

They might have many more than 21, but my numbers are playing on the safe side.

Actually its always the other way around. When you read those ebooks, they always state that grab an ebook that doesn't have a high gravity, to it won't be saturated.

    i agree floodrod....

I think a lot of people dont know how the gravity works..

if i had 1 affiliate and they made 500 sales in one day.. my gravity would only be 1.... But damn, this would deffinetly be a product you should promote!

This is why a lot of "make money with clickbank" type products have a higher gravity. Because the buyers usually use their own affiliate link. This would raise the gravity by one for each person. A product like this might have a gravity of 200, but each sale could be from a different affiliate.

so the product with a gravity of 1 made 500 sales
product with gravity of 200 made 200 sales.

    Interesting,

my GRTP product has been in CB for under a month, and is at gravity 8, however MUCH more than 8 have been sold, and so far about 88 affiliates have tried to push it, and its sitting at #14 in the cbtrends top 100... I noticed the gravity will also decline if no sales are made for a few days.

"if i had 1 affiliate and they made 500 sales in one day.. my gravity would only be 1.... " Are you sure about that? Doesn't seem right, or fair.

yep, im sure about that :)

a lot of ebooks say that high gravity products are the ones that are "selling like hotcakes". But the gravity means nothing in terms of how many sales were made. (unless every sale was made from a different aff link)

also note, Vendor sales have no effect on gravity. if my gravity was zero, and i made 500 sales of my own product.. my gravity would remain zero

Thanks guys for sharing your in-depth knowledge about the affiliate gravity. I tend to look at both sales position as well as the affiliate gravity. Oh yes, another factor to look out for is how long the product has been listed. If it is long enough, this also indicates that the product has a stronger presence and appeal.
