Hello, I want to upgrade my video/graphics card. I currently have: Intel(R) 8285G Graphics Controller 756MB RAM I found out the graphics controller in Display Properties. I'm on WinXP. What would be the best upgrade? I want something that will support Vista's effects and will greatly improve my graphics in games and what not. What are the best brands? Any specific recommendations? Thanks for you help!
You have a long way to go before you think about buying a video card. It sounds like you are currently using an onboard video card. Are you sure you can put a new one in your computer? Do you have a PCi express slot? or AGP? Is it a PCiE 2.0 slot? How much money do you want to spend? What about SLI? After you answer these questions, you can go to newegg.com and shop....
though nVidia`s hardware are no match for Ati ones...still, i would recommend u to go for the nVidia cards. just bcoz they`ve got better driver support!!
