I was just wondering is it better to have the graphic menus vs. text menus for the keywords not related to the site content? Another words: if I have 100 pages of diverse content with the text menus like "About", "User login", etc on every page, Google will find out that about and "user login" are the most frequently used keywords for the site (which can be observed at "what googleboot sees" in Webmaster tools), and thus this site is about user logins? If graphic menus used (about.gif, userlogin.gif), those keywords would not be indexed, and then the true content keywords would have a chance to shine through. Does anybody have thoughs on this?
Yes it may be a good idea to use graphical links for those kinds of pages. Personally I just use a rel="nofollow" attribute on links to such pages. If your keywords are used effectively throughout your website you don't have to worry about Google thinking your site is about user login.
