yeah you can do it in photoshop and then slice out the image and use it in your template coding. I have used that before on some of my templates so if you need any help i can help u with it. but basicly you just slice out the small drop shadow for both the left and right side then make a table and have a td on the left for the left drop shadow, a td in the middle for your content and one on the right for the right drop shadow.

thought of that... but it's a little cumbersome... is that a more elegant way of doing this?

that is the only way I know how to do it, of course it can be done with multiple divs without having to use tables, which will make your site load faster.

ok thanks guys... so i go to photoshop and create a rounded corner rectangle... how do i specify the color of the drop shadow... by default, it's always grey...

also, how do i create the rounded corner rectangle with a colored border and a white fill? by default, there is no border...

There is another way to do this: :)
    1. make a rounded corner rectangle
    2. copy layer with this
    3. Filter-> Blur -> Gaussian Blur at one of the rectangle (bottom layer)

And you have something like shadow, but better ;) . U can change color of this layer (CTRL + U or CTRL + B or CTRL+L) ;) .

    1. Make white rectangle.
    2. Choose marquee tool.
    3. Press CTRL and click left mouse button on layer with rectangle.
    4. Right mouse button at selection and click on "Stroke". Now u know what to do. :p
