graphic ads = low conversion at content nettwork

    Hi,

Recently I created some graphic ads to my content network that I run in some countries at $0,01 cent per click.

I track conversions when the customer download a trial of my product and normally for text ads is ~10% of the visits (cost per conversion = 0,10 ).

But for the new graphic ads the conversion CTR is good but the conversion rate is really terrible.

One of my flash ads received 1300 clicks and low 0,1% of conversion.

The graphic ads looks ok to me: I'm trying to imagine why these graphic ads are getting the wrong audience. I got some static graphic ads in the past and they are old fashion to use today but I remember that they got good conversion rates in the past.

Why am I getting so low conversion tracking today? In the past AdWords do not allow clicks low as 0,01 as today - is these value targeting know low quality click sites only?

Or is these red flash new ads attracting audience just curious to see how designed this flash ad? not interested in the real content of the advertising?

    thanks

Your hunch is probably right. Think about it, websites that have nothing to do with your website are displaying your ads. When people click on it, they probably don't know what to expect. The fact that they are displaying it for $0.01 can sort of back me up on that.

Why don't you manually choose the websites that you want displaying your ads? I know Google and Bidvertiser supports this option.

    Hope that helps.

I've found graphic based ads to work best when used in conjunction with site targeting.

What is Bidvertiser? is the same of site targetting?

I'm trying site targeting too, but its not working for me.

I'm using my best flash ads but still get very high price per click or conversion.

I think that still need to research the right sites or the right banner for it.

That;s the key. I drop over 90% of the sites I use site targeting to advertise on within a few days of running on them. You can tell pretty quick which sites, based on your advertising goals and objectives, are worth it/working for you.

And in the end how much you pay per click?

You use just image ads? flash ads too?

On average, a few % more than I do with CPC ads.

I use image (including some flash) & text ads.
