    Hey,

I have downloaded and modified a script, which is under GPL. In the readme.txt file am I allowed to put my name as the author? Or are you meant to leave the original developer as the author?

Also concerning distribution of the software - am I right in assuming I can distribute the files as long as they are under the GPL as well?

    Thanks,

    Hodge

Well, I believe that you still need to acknowledge the original author so you should be able to add on to the author list.

Yes, you can distribute the software with your changes under GPL.

So it'd be ok for me to state the original author and my name as an contributer or something? :)
