Gotta Give Props To vBulletin Developers

Not only have they developed what I consider the cleanest/best coded system (for anything) I've run across, but they are extraordinarily responsive to feature requests and bug reports (even ones I consider trivial and anal). For example the last bug report was as trivial as it gets, yet it was "fixed" within 30 minutes of the submission...

IMO, there responsive to feature requests suck. I got one that's been siting in the Under Consideration board since last June, a simple option to allow vBulletin codes in the User Profile Field!!!

I asked for the DB layout of their software today. I did get a prompt response but the answer was 'no'. I need to know so I can decide whether to buy it or not; I need to integrate it into an existing application.

How hard is it to dump the structure? I didn't even need all the tables.

If anyone can help me with the user tables' schematics I'd appreciate it a lot.

I use a simple SSH root...

mysqldump -uroot -pPASSWORD DATABASE > /public_html_path/back-ups/1-21-06.sql

to back-up the database, though you can use the admincp to make a back-up.

Not with you... I don't have VB yet. But I need a dump just of the structure, not the data so I can figure out whether this will integrate easily with my current scripts. If PHPBB integrates better, I might have to go with them.

So I'm only after the layout. User tables only probably.

Couldn't you do it with a plug-in? Seems like it would be simple enough to just spin the field you want to do it with through the BBCode parser class/function via a plug-in.

I don't need it now. I wanted it to try to make an arcade hack for members to create a favorite v3arcade games page. Some one else made a hack that does that after vBulletin 3.5 came out.

So then stop crying. :) heh

If the original requester doesn't even have a use for it, I'm sure it's probably not too high up on their priority list. :)
