I put an article on my blog yesterday afternoon about the newest Golf GPS device on the market. I submitted it to Digg, Technoati, etc. and this morning when I do a Google search for SkyCaddie SG5 Pro, my article is #1. It got about 300 uniques in about 5 hours, which I'm fairly happy about. My research shows that those keywords aren't getting many searches at the moment, probably because the product just became available, but it should get more search traffic in coming months. I'm also running a giveaway on my blog for a golf product, and I did the same thing with that article and the article comes up in the top 5 for Free TaylorMade Clubs. So.... how do I keep these pages at the top is my question. It's a blog article, so it will slowly be moved farther back in the archives. Is there anything I can do to keep it fresh and in the top 5 for that search? Thanks.
Well Done! First time you try to use your brain and share knowledge with building your website links...
It happened overnight because there was not much competition for that keyword .. as you said product just became available, now you need more and more links to stay on the top .. otherwise, news articles from CNN, CNET, MSNBC and pages from answers.yahoo.com and wikipedia will start taking over top10. So, more good content and more natural links are a must to stay there. Congratulates and Good luck on this.
I really wouldn't suggest buying backlinks. Google knows about these "bulk" backlink purchase websites IMO. If anything use Onlywire.com to bookmark it on social bookmarking sites (you can get almost 30 with one click).
I did this with a Squidoo page, and it's still #1 for the 4th month straight, for a 3-word search term. I just wish someone would buy the product, especially since it sells for $20,000
LOL you're definitely going for the big daddy of all commissions. lol chances are though that people won't purchase a $20,000 product using their credit card online just by looking at a picture of it. I could be wrong.
