One thing I've always wondered while writing sponsored reviews into my blog (and I suppose about 40% of my 920+ posts are sponsored, so do your math on the time I've been ruminating this), is how I could possibly comeup with creative ways to plug in the commercial lead in a subtle, non-intrusive way. In that sense, I'd like to propose the following debate: "Which special techniques have you learned while writing sponsored posts?" Naturally, I'm willing to share my own techniques and experiences, but I'm quite interested to find new angles to this specific kind of writing. In fact, I'd also like to ask anyone who's interested on scrutinizing my work to visit my blog-like webzine (Check sig for link), and give me somme feedback on the writing. But we should keep focus on the question up there, please.
Do what you would you do if you liked a product or website and were recommending it to friends. Try to like the website and find it's strongpoints, purpose and uses/benefits to your readers. Try to have a neutral-positive view. Don't shower the sponsor with undue praise. It'd be best if you could be completely neutral and objective and the sponsored posts were relevant to your site's theme.
I am also making a few paid post, and I try to make it personal as possible and not making them too good to be true. I also make them interesting for my readers, not only for the advertisers.
It would be sensible to strike a good balance between advertising the sponsor as well as providing good information to the readers. If the article carries to much of a praise rather than real information, the reader would quickly lose interest. I am just taking baby steps in this world of blogging and it is just my humble opinion. Even I am looking forward to reading more views on this interesting topic. So hope the experienced will oblige. Regards, RightMan
You can just make your posts more review like. Instead of viewing the sponsor as an advertiser, look at them as a partner. If you think it is a good value and good link for your visitors, then tell them that.
