Hi, I have been a silent member of this forum so far. I just wanted to ask something. I optimised a clients website and after three weeks i am able to get on 2nd page of google for that keyword. Keyword is a bit competitive and had 10000+ searches last month. Everyone knows about sandbox, do u think my website can go in sandbox as it has got a pagerank of 0. Its not actually new it was registered in 2003 and I think the site was up as well but never optimized. And can anyone help me with good website stat software? Thanks
Sounds like you escaped the sandbox because of the site's age. I wouldn't worry about going down again. Keep slowly optimizing it and you should be fine. If you can get your hands on an invite then Google Analytics is good. Otherwise Statcounter does a good job as well, for free or paid if you need a bigger log history. I use Urchin pre-Google server software, not hosted like Analytics.
I am using Statcounter and LiveStat on the website but Statcounter seems messed up for some reasons. They both telling me different story. Even if i go to website, statcounter does not count that in page impressions. dont know wats wrong. How can you get Urchin?
Hmmm seems like you can't get Urchin new, it's superseded by GA. Are you sure you don't have blocking cookies or IP blocking in Statcounter? it served me well on many sites for years.
no im not using any ip blocking or anything. I am using statcounter for my other websites as well and thats working perfectly.
Are u talking about Google Analytics? because Urchin is a software as far as i know and i think u need to install that on your webserver?
