Absolutely not. Your site has content. Some people become very snobbish about these things. They think that they can make trouble for you because your site has less content than their own. Such people need to mind their own business.

A true AS spam site is full of links with no useful content (text, games, maps, etc.) at all.

Those ones do I am afraid, and most arrow would as well... You should re-read (or read for the first time) Google's TOS... but in any case, here is the direct quote from Google's AdSense TOS:

"This includes encouraging users to click on the ads or to visit the advertisers' sites as well as drawing any undue attention to the ads."

Pretty sure that is what those flashing arrows pointing at the AdSense ads are doing...

Regardless of whether it scrapes through the TOS, if I where Google I wouldn't want my name associated with this sort of crap! While its unlikely to get much traffic, the number of pointless sites like this is on the increase and can be extremely annoying to the casual internet browser. IMHO Google will have to apply more quality control in future if it wants to keep advertisers (and its good name). Initiatives like allowing advertisers to choose which sites they target will see the end of this sort of BS. Sorry to all those who make a living from click through sites but if this is all you can offer in content and site design then its hard to see any future in it ;)

    Cheers

Just to set the record straight, the member was actually a 16 yr old boy from NZ, that we discovered through research, and has now apologized for making such a fuss of the matter, considering the site was made for exactly what I rejected it for... Adsense spam.

Ferret, for the record, what a load of BS. It has nothing to do with putting anyone down, it has to do with calling a spade a bloody spade mate. Also for the record, I'm actually now a retired SEO, so I have nothing to prove. I run a quality directory, and I don't allow sh*t into it... quite simple really. That site is absolute shite, and that is how I outlined it. The site was an example only, nothing that harsh said, until the owner decided to take it further.

Look above, the owner apologized for making a nuisance off himself as he is only 16 yrs old, and made the site for adsense, the exact honest reason I rejected it.

Sorry I didn't realize the post was in response to someone trying to get in your directory

I just figured it was another useless tirade by some seo person trying to get noticed.

Is that directory the one you advertised in linkmarket?

    Ok, let's be realistic.

In all honesty there's really no way of telling if a website is made for AdSense. The scammer could be into details and cramming lots of stuff on the website to make it seem authentic, or the webmaster could be lazy and not fill his site with enough content.

I think this kind of allegations are very arbitrary.

You are sort off correct, though when you edit long enough, to tend to know what is what after a while... and a few other searches for domains and registered domain users tends to quickly discover any patterns. I will be the first to admit, sometimes I get it wrong, and no doubt other directory editors, but more often than not, we get it right, because we have done it enough, seen it enough, that they stand out too easy.

A simple search at copyscape also will normally outline any anomalies quickly, as most sites built for contextual ads only, tend to copy a lot of their content in small portions for a quick build, or scrape it outright.

Its when these types of checks turn up nothing, an editor has to face things on a more objective POV, and make a decision.

Hunh, I guess I came too late. All those links pointing to the original thread (about the OP's site) has been altered/deleted/etc. So not knowing of the original hullaballah, I'll just leave. :)
